Once Upon a DecemberA Poem by Alex P.Memories are hard to get rid of. They sneak up on you and cling tight, when all you want to do is let go.Aging memories Tear me up inside I thought I was done
with this I thought I could hide The first breath of
snow, Christmas’ twinkling
lights All help me to recall Of our last big,
terrible fight I find myself
remembering, Thinking of you, Knowing I shouldn’t, But I do, Wonder if you think
about it too? The pain is dull, But it has not gone I don’t think it ever
fully will The memory of your
betrayal Still a bitter pill I laugh at nothing
now, And smile now more
than last year, But even still I can’t
help but wonder Does it still hurt you
too, dear? © 2012 Alex P.Author's Note
