![]() Once Upon a DecemberA Poem by Alex P.![]() Memories are hard to get rid of. They sneak up on you and cling tight, when all you want to do is let go.![]() Aging memories Tear me up inside I thought I was done
with this I thought I could hide The first breath of
snow, Christmas’ twinkling
lights All help me to recall Of our last big,
terrible fight I find myself
remembering, Thinking of you, Knowing I shouldn’t, But I do, Wonder if you think
about it too? The pain is dull, But it has not gone I don’t think it ever
fully will The memory of your
betrayal Still a bitter pill I laugh at nothing
now, And smile now more
than last year, But even still I can’t
help but wonder Does it still hurt you
too, dear? © 2012 Alex P.Author's Note
