Winter

Winter

A Poem by Alex P.
"

Winter's peaceful wake

"

Snowflakes adorning her hair,

Jewel-like against ebony tresses

A gown of purest white,

Invisible against the virgin snow

She wanders in the wake of her sisters

Vibrant in her own way

Wind whispers to her through iced-sheathed trees

Frost at her feet reflecting her radiant beauty

She walks with us but once a year

Her cool touch reaching out to calm the fire of our soul,

From the vivacity of summer’s flirtatious pull

Letting us rest in contemplation at last

In the calmness of her days
