Carved Answers?A Poem by SPINNING ON that dizzy edgeI woke up this morning with sheet marks on my face Twisted blankets, pillows tossed through trails of dreams could trace Must have stretched and delved and rolled inside this safest place.
Last night's dreams, like last night's book weren't gently pushed aside from bed that is a sweet escape a hallowed place to hide. Must have kicked and groped and spun remembering now I cried.
It's much more than a mattress some wooden slats and brass Soothing like a cradle rocks as endlesss time does pass. Must have calmed then soothed and found some serenity at last
How many days, how many nights lay hidden in this space Asking, searching, begging God please put life into place.
But now I wonder..... Like shadows fall Beyond sleep's wall ...or
have I just missed the gift to read those sheet marks on my face.
