Is That Spring Knocking?

Is That Spring Knocking?

A Poem by SPINNING ON that dizzy edge

Is that a bud, is that a bird,

is that spring coming,

don't laugh at me -
I think I heard?

Spring knocking....

My eyes are open,

my ears are peeked,

I've been inside FOREVER

can Spring start this week?

Grass growing...

I see kids out there riding bikes,

skating, running and climbing trees!

Can it just be Spring NOW

I'm even asking - Please!

Energy buzzing...

Calendar says wait two more days

but I can't seem to wait one more

the season moves - it's getting light

I'll hang Spring flowers on the door.

Posies ready...

I've got it now - I've got it bad

Spring fever calls, put shovels and gloves away

Cabin fever rumbles and makes me not sit still

Ok, I'll wait... just one more day!

I'll wait here on the doorstep....

or the porch swing!

you really captured what kind of urgency someone from the north can have while waiting for spring at the end of a long winter.... plus the way you ended each stanza with "..." to lead into the next one.. brought about some very smooth transitions.. your excitement comes across so thickly that you can almost cut it with a knife!

I like the hope in this poem, you've done a nice job conveying how eager you are for spring. Nice job.

Look at you two - sitting there, waiting sooo patiently! Any more room on that porch swing? This poem is quite refreshing... tasting the spring air. Happy first day of spring!

Haha you eager beaver. It really does feel like spring is knocking.. so many poems about it right now, its definately in the air. A time for light and life and hope. Move over, I'm waiting on the porch with you :)

Well, it sounds like a conversation has led to a poem. Our shared grumbles of the other day led you to words. I am all in favor of any writing that shares my sentiment calling for spring
