No, not on Christmas...

No, not on Christmas...

A Poem by SPINNING ON that dizzy edge

Today's not a day for thinking and deciding

Not with

wrapping paper, streams of ribbon bright

in a rainbow pile on the floor

Can't seem to share

the feelings I am hiding.

I shake my head and the snowglobe in my hands

Hold it to the light to see where glitter snowfall lands.

Bad time of the year to push someone away

but is there ever

a good time for me to say

goodbye

no, never

or I've had enough

not just today

or I'm so tired...

way too tired

of putting in sooo much more

than I ever get back...

my ribs are sore

from crying - holding in the pain

to hope that things

could change

Again

How many times we danced this dance

You say you'll change - give you a chance

Too many years

too many tears

But not today.

Not today. A plaintive plea for some peace in a relationship. Or an ending. excellent.
