An Angel BeholdenA Poem by Michael Leon Wilson
Upon a day,
I wished upon a starry night, I wished for beauty With all my might I pleaded for a muse Staring intently upon starlight. As I wish I began to see A star it seemed that fell for me It was bright, brilliant and fine It came crashing down Confiscating my eyes From the stardust appeared an angel, Virtue of Virgo Wings pure and white She walked toward me and showered me in light. Could she indeed be mine? They answer lay written in time, For now it remains , maybe Under name of Bailey She questions me softly, Asking what my attentions may be And smiling every time I respond in honesty. Time will tell, yet I feel she must have fell, for me I shall show to her the world, in which she has always seen, yet never known, may she show me stars And how to shine as brightly as she glows. © 2021 Michael Leon Wilson |
