A word is a powerful force to behold,
Even though it cannot be beheld,
Who can resist the stories told,
When the pen and the poet's mind meld?
With a simple turn of a phrase,
Or a well thought out eloquent rhyme,
Literature shall never cease to amaze,
When all of those elements combine,
For mightier than the sword is the pen,
So 'tis now, so 'twas then,
For when I die, much to my disdain,
'Twill be my words that survive and remain.
The Poetry PoemA Poem by B L BushongHere's a poem that was inspiried by my 11th grade English teacher, who used to tell us that "Words are power." Which is true, words are, indeed power. So this was written. Enjoy.© 2008 B L BushongReviews
