The Dream Once Dreamt

The Dream Once Dreamt

A Poem by KNIKOLAS

I watched the dream I followed shatter into pieces,

The acceptance, appreciation and love I chased left my heart with creases.

No matter how dedicated, passionate, and empathetic,

I felt the chill of another human rebelling human ethic.

The acceptance, appreciation, and love I chased left me crass,

The dream once dreamt pricked my finger like broken glass.
