Denver

Denver

A Poem by klewis
"

Sometimes the best things you can do have ill effects.

"
Denver stole my kisses
Placed upon your cheeks.
Denver stole the sun
For 40 months and weeks.

It fixed up all the problems
That`ve been there all along.
If you point the finger
It can`t be blamed for wrong
.

But Denver stole our songs
And tangled up their tune.
Anger painted grey the sky
And sadness stole the moon.

How can I forgive now?
How can we still cope?
Denver made it easier
But forgot to give us hope.

Great read. Third stanza is my favorite. The rhyming didn't come across as if you tried to hard.
