A Poem by Karen Zimmer

The widest eyes you'd ever seen
Lashes pulled forward
As the contours of your shoulders
Started shaking

You'd never know what to say
The coldest bones you'd ever known
So worn from holding you in a place

This far from the shore

You use great language. I like how it's very powerful, yet not too in-your-face. I especially liked this part - "The coldest bones you'd ever known
So worn from holding you in a place".
Well penned.
