ReminiscentA Poem by Karen ZimmerDo you remember The river?
Summer waves Rendered Angry in liquor
Yet Against the breadth Of the bartender I wrote The stones In sentences Like tightropes
Words falling Almost as awkwardly
As the Accents Of her Backbone
Understand
Suffering Was my anchor
The river Drained And Disorder Clothed my framework
Veins Lanterned Like her Riverbed Blonde in Constellation
I am belonged To the wind And shaped Of suspicion
Probably Fashioned From the Water
