An ode to Langston Hughes

An ode to Langston Hughes

A Poem by KLGreen

He writes like jazz.
The trumpet is his paper
and the notes make up the words.
He writes like jazz.
Just like the b-major scale
that the alto sax plays.
He writes like jazz.
He's got a swung note on his pen
just like Duke's orchestra.
He writes like jazz.
The back beat sounds
and the be-bop forms.
He writes like jazz.
