I rejoice in my shroudA Poem by KLGreenA talitot is the hebrew plural of a prayer shawl
I wrap myself in the talitot,
a funeral shroud for me. Because my faith will be my death for love of my Deity. A dirge, a dirge, my soul for a dirge to send me on my way; I praised His name into a plot of dirt and wait patiently for decay. But please do not shed a tear or keen beside my stone. My body wore out in worship dear. My tongue with praise wore to the bone. I go to God with nothing left because I gave him all. I do not leave this world bereft so wrap me in my shawl. © 2015 KLGreen |
