A Poem by Kathleen

I am not tall,

brilliant, or beautiful.

I am not drowning or in a dress, I am not an ethereal fish,

I am not wearing green. I am not blonde,

I am not clean laundry or trapped in a dryer,

I am not rosemary or peppermint or cinnamon.

I am not laughing or dancing the tango,

I am not cruel or feathered or dead.

I am not flying, climbing, soaring, falling, I am not a mountain,

I am not allergic to cats, I am not alone, I am not afraid.

I am not graceful, smooth, or fluid.

I am not dark, I am not silver.

I am not the rain, the ocean, the water, the light.

Like it. Breathe of fresh voice - thanks for posting this. Makes me think about negative space, which is another way of seeing what is there. I don't know how to rate things - is 50 points for correct spelling and coherant thought? is 75 insulting, and is 100 reserved for Christopher Marlowe-level poetry? I'll give ya 80 because it's happily different from some of the other stuff I peeked at, and I will re-read this for sure, more than once. Thank you, Kathleen!

I loooooove poems like this. So many times I read what people are or what they will be, but this perspective is so unique. It just says, "I am me, and there is no description that fits what I am, because there is no other me on this earth." Absolutely love this!
