Frost Bite

Frost Bite

A Poem by Kulvelee Sukiam

The breath of Jack Frost fogged your car's windows

In the middle of a cold night,

We huddled side by side in the back of your car

The heat of your body gave warmth to my shivering skin.

Your face so close to mine

Your gentle hands caressed my arm back and forth.

The night was biting my skin with frozen fangs,

But with your arms wrapped around me so tightly

Your presence sizzled through Jack Frost's wrath.

As I reached in for a kiss

Closer and closer,

Your cherry lips touching mine

I felt like Titanic sinking into your ocean.

Instead of the bitter cold

A fresh breeze feathered through my body

As if Fall returned with blazing colors.

Even when I closed my eyes

The darkness I would see

Were the fluorescent colors your presence illuminated

Through my eye lids.
