Treading Water

Found this in an old writing notebook. No clue when it was written or why.

Cast aside,
Lost in tide,
The tears I have cried
With nowhere to hide.
I must bide.
I must bide.

Waves sweep in,
Darker than sin;
The cycle begins.

Deep deep down
And through,
No one ever knew.

And here I drown.
