Thank You's To Another Kind of Mother

Thank You's To Another Kind of Mother

A Poem by K. J. Corbin
"

The sun gets all the credit.

"

It worries me how the mind associates my freedom with capture.
A pity I'm sure.
I however blame the moon in its luster and mystery
As it seems that the ring of light around the sight of her Brings me the life I don't ask for throughout the day
As I lay here believing I'm too young to wither away.
Someone please explain this kiss.
Familiar to those who go crazy when she is full.
I simply find reason to move about irrigating the madness. How I travel through.
Unscathed is a maddening idea.
But I remember myself as though waking to her lover, son, or brother, excuse me for their family I am unfamiliar.
But they know me well.
Sun comes and they say "Oh! well here he is, he is home! Let us begin!"
The moon asks for nothing, bringing much, to which we have yet to understand.
But I see love.
