Bona Fide

Bona Fide

A Poem by Rashida 'Kismet' Bryan

The attention I crave,

The look I believe tries to send me to the grave,

The world I wish could support this love,

You should stop handling me with the glove.

My heart throbs,

Knowing your intentions of sudden thrusts,

How I would gladly comply,

But I know your lies,

Too well,

To quell.

Or are you so flummoxed?

Surprised to be in lust?

With a girl like me?

Who constantly flees?

From things not real?

How could this be love?

On your part or mine?

Your actions betray your feelings,

If indeed those actions are true dealings.

Sometimes I feel you do not love me,

Other times I feel you are too overwhelmed to face our reality,

So you side step me with brilliant gallantry.

Something thoughtful...something to ponder upon i say. I liked the style and the way u have conveyed your thoughts about the guy...Yes, nothing is obvious until we take our chances and then perhaps, its either too late to go further, or too late to go back...so before u step into the fire, take guard...And listen to ur mind, rather than ur heart.
Good one...Carry on please. :)
