Substance AbuseA Poem by HopeOne more hit/One more kiss/One more line/One more night
You laid it down before me
Stuck the dollar up my nose Got me breathing fast Had me feeling trashed One dose had me down One hit and I begged for more One more hit One more kiss One more line One more night Until my body went cold Laced with poison You deceived me Lied about what you sold And now I can't shake this crave I can't shake this pain I can't shake you from my brain Pinned against a wall Wrapped tightly around you Holding onto a drug I was forced to use Screaming and sobbing Begging you to stay One more hit One more high please please please Don't go away Shaking like a junkie Forced to need you Offering no rescue Just a quick hit One bump And you're gone Leaving the crime scene All to me And an addiction To reliving senseless tragedy One hit I close my eyes and replay The horror in my head One more hit Every night Every morning Ever free moment I get One more hit All that was unwanted And all that was unsaid All those hours of you in my bed One more hit Left reeling Left feeling Again Like the fault was mine One more hit And I'm tired So so so tired This all too real Paralysis demon My all time terror That will never go away One more hit Over and over On loop One more hit Forever Until I'm dead.
