"Darkness"A Poem by KGodwinThis is one of the poems in the collection, "A New Season of Poetry."“Darkness” Dark was black,
like the night, Turned into
shadows by the Light, The blackness felt
like an evil weight, Casting fear and
doubt upon my fate. But rescued by my
Savior then, The Light of
Heaven flooded in, My lungs filled
with the cleanest air, And there was no
darkness anywhere. That darkness,
though, lurked behind, The deepest
recesses of my mind, For more than
thirty years, Bleeding out only
through my tears, But never once
truly known, Until two of them
were gone, Their spirits
beyond this life, When God’s hand
cut like a knife, And I felt the
ripping of the veil, It was only then
that the truth began to tell. September 15, 2017 © 2018 KGodwinAuthor's Note
