Unforgiven

Written by: Kaleb G. Berry
All around there is no pain
The sky remains still
Birds silenced as the clouds recede.
My hateful words do not escape these lips.
Could I speak?
Would you listen?
Only time can heal these wounds,
But your wounds burn deeper inside of me,
Like a searing cut mercilessly puncturing my heart.
When will the moment come that I don’t need to scrape away this past
This eternal battle is taking away who I am
And giving it to you.
The strength for rebirth lies within.
I feel it. You know it is there.
What must we tear down to find it and move on? Struggling to breathe,
Reaching out, but no hand is there to take mine,
And lift me from this grave I have dug myself into.
No one understands this…no one will ever will.
Maybe they are only meant to see my tears, but never hear my words.

I understand the words. Your words are true. We hold inside our heart and mind great power to do many things. A poem with good logic in your words.
"The strength for rebirth lies within.
I feel it. You know it is there."
I like the flow and the powerful poetry. Thank you.
