A Tale of the Sleepy Skull PirateA Poem by Kenny JI recently developed a clothing company for children called Sleepy Skulls. This is a poem I wrote to ad some substance to the products. An introduction to the Sleepy Skull pirate.
T'was a cold Autumn night
With a thin crescent moon Dire wolves were a'howling Causing young maids to swoon A chill wind was blowing Brazen church bells rang It was the midnight hour No parishioners came Only dark things rustled Things only half seen Through the mist that gathered On that chill cursed eve. They crawled and they crept On that dread 31st. Like all evil monsters They had a terrible thirst If not for the ghost Of the long dead Buccaneer All would be lost And there'd be no one to hear How the Werewolves and Vampires Descended that night Lo the wrath of the Pirate Was a terrible sight! With his cutlass a flashing And pistols well aimed The dark creatures ran They all had been tamed With their lives they escaped They flew for the hills To never return For they knew they'd be killed So my children you listen For you can sleep tight As long as he's here The Werewolves won't bite. Nor Vampires nor Zombies Nor other ghouls too For the Sleepy Skull Pirate Will watch over you. KFJ 7 / 12 / 14 © 2014 Kenny JAuthor's Note
