Burst

Burst

A Poem by KCommoner

Singing with her is like taking communion;
I drink her voice with my ears until I am full;
my shoulders unfurl like a bird;
I am reminded the sacrifice of every minute-
every bead of sweat;
my cheeks are wet;
they are a desert
graced with a summer storm;
drowning me with awe and wonder
for this place that's tucked me away
in darkness- darkness that has kissed me-
that's made love to me-
that brings me to my knees
to this seat watching
with eyes glistening
in this wave of creation.
