The Man Who Loved The Sun

A Story by Keyshawn Casnave

The Man who loved the Sun

A thousand days and a thousand nights…… and of course ive only seen you for half of such time… you didn’t asked to be put there nor do you complain despite all you do… I wanna know what makes you so bright, what makes you get up at absurd hours just for me? What did I do to deserve you? Will you ever leave me? Ive lost so much already, I don’t wanna lose you too… Every day I wake up a blessed man, blessed by such light. Your light. But when the time comes for you to leave, I weep. I hate to see you go, it kills me really…

Ive decided to venture out and find out where you slumber so that I can be with you for all time. Im sure the journey will be dangerous but what choice do I have? You’re all that I think about and without you I feel as though I am nothing.

Many days have passed crossing through deserts, storms, and frozen tundra’s. I know im getting closer and closer as the days seem to span longer as I head towards you. I think to myself,” This is worth it, you are worth it”.
