Journey

As I lay here quietly in the dark

I hear a dog beginning to bark 

I feel the rhythm of my beating heart 

Wondering where my next chapter will start

 

Hard times come and hard times go

But there's always that one thing that I know

That you stand  up and you move along 

You stand up proud and stand up strong 

 

You must learn to enjoy the ride

And never just stand to one side

Life is a journey, a one way road 

It's our own story, for us to decode 

 

We travel around everyday 

not always knowing the right thing to say 

We always wonder what the future might bring 

But be careful not to miss a thing 

 

Everything happens for a reason 

Just like the weather changes each season 

Your time is now and your time is here 

Set your goals high, whether far or near

 

The past is there to reminisce

Like the moment of your very first kiss

But do not dwell upon the past

As the future is coming and its coming fast 

 

Live your life loud, make sure your heard

Spread your wings and fly like a bird

Don't ever stop until you reach your goal

Don't stop until your world is whole
