Written 2 years after Japan disaster

Always remember, never forget.

A nation's call for help is finally met

As earth crumbled beneath them,

and floods came to meet them.

As lives were swept away with a single big wave

once safe homes were destroyed, and in they would cave.

What was a life, but a single small twig;

washed away quickly as if nothing big.

Lives lost in a wave, roaring and harsh-

Leaving nothing, but, a broken down marsh

Mud covered the bodies of those who had swam;

But that's not even where the numbers began.

For down the towns they were swept away

The missing numbers' skyrocketing was as clear as day

Invisible enemies poisoned the airs all around

Silently effecting those, without a single sound

No one is to enter the battle torn zone

No one can return home with that tone

Even now in the future the damages remain;

Deep in those living is the scarring pain.

Losing their homes, their things and their wills

Watching lives lost, who does it really kill?

Living everyday with the guilt "I lived instead"-

Carrying those feelings everyday to their bed.

But still everyday new trees struggle and sprout;

Bringing new hopes and new lives about.

Maybe one day we'll look back in the past,

and remember this tragedy as the very last.

Maybe one day we'll be fully recovered

and by then we'd have fully discovered,

that no matter how bad the damage or cause

Human will and hope will be the ultimate gauze.
