Pity Me, Pity You

Pity Me, Pity You

A Poem by Brave New World
"

Rather Poetic yet again

"

Feeling rather sad

Acting kinda bad

Sold my favorite load

On my loneliest road

I know it’s all my fault

Can trace my steps to a halt

Pity me

Oh, pity me

Did I ever have a chance?

Or were you always just a trance?

Always the flawed teaser

Yet never a crowd pleaser

 Pity me, Pity you

Because you know when that time is due

When that which is wrapped around your finger

Does so finely fail to linger

Who will get the last laugh

Me or you by a half?

You know there’s no excuse

How you’ve been put to such poor use

Oh, you know when the fire’s gone and so’s the light

You’ll be the only one telling yourself goodnight

Alas, that’s game

Always pretty lame

Pity me, Pity you

We’ll never get what is due
