Try too hard

Try too hard

A Poem by Brave New World

I let you fall in his arms,

Aint no one’s fault by mine,

All I can do is myself’s harm

For I couldn’t spot a thousand signs

For now it’s way too late to take the take

Minutes to midnight, I stay awake

They love is great, love is might

I however, call it trite

Leaving me swept up in time

Drinking the past

It tastes like turpentine

Weeping like every moment’s last

Like a virus, infecting me

Finding every way under my skin

Never leaving me with a moment’s glee

Slowly dying in each moment’s din

I know these scars are mine to bear

Afraid to move forward, afraid to move back

Causing heartbreak and havoc until it reaches somewhere

Inaction, inactivity, slowly killing me

Every rhyme is a tear, cascading through time

Until we end this mime, kill the pantomime

Love is a joke, a poor winded hoax

I’ll either win or kill myself

To make you care

But in the end…..

You do win

Cuz I try too hard

And don’t move too far

"It tastes like turpentine "

Yes, it does. This was painfully beautiful. Well crafted. Perfect.
