Sting

Sting

A Poem by Merenda Morris
"

a child's lessons in all things sharp.

"

Tomatoes and salt lie on the floor

She follows her dad’s example

Taking the knife he left on the table

She cuts and it bleeds

Too much salt on it

YUCK!

She looses interest quickly

Still there’s something wrong

Burning intensely she looks down at her hand

No wonder he’s not around
