Down To Earth

Down To Earth

A Chapter by Kevin

In space
Your world
Is no closer.
Just numbness
Like a drug.
I dreamed I
Was an alien
That flew too close to the sun
As the Earth was
So f*****g lost.

I cannot tell
You how I feel.
Nothing hurts.
And nothing heals.

I wish I could tell
You how I feel.
Nothing hurts.
Nothing will heal.

'Cause it's great, cruel world.
As we are drained of emotions.
I cannot love myself.
I cannot love any other.

Oh, my scars they itch.
My prescription's gone.
You were my queen "forever and always."
But it's all long gone.
What is left to say?

My peers are
So cold.
Our frames are all broken.
And the rosaries tore my scars open.
Aylissa...
I miss her.
I'm praying
Oh, so mechanical.
And our lives are so ugly now.

All the razors are gone.
My cuts all here.
There is no queen "forever and always."
'Cause it's all long gone.
So what is left to say?

It's a cruel and numbing world
And we are drained of emotions.
We cannot love the rest.
We cannot love any other.

Author's Note

Kevin
A poem about how cruel the world is and how numbing it can be all the way to the point of feeling mechanical.

Is this for the people living in grey? Expresses that humankind is only extant, regardless of emotions and other temporary things. Kind of haunting.
