Broken Glasses Mr. FranklinA Poem by K.C. ZbrykPerception and interpretation Seem fluid Rolling from solid to formless In a matter of moments Never settling for long Something harmless Can become a threat in a moment For no reason Be it words thoughts or actions What we see May seem to have a strict set of rules But in the end Perhaps the phrase that’s most Appropriate Is Rules are meant to be broken Or expect the unexpected Really On a long enough time line Anything can happen So these things we see They may not exist in a few moments Or they may become a monument For the future civilizations They can become religion Or a ancient relic Or merely sand But how we see them now That is what confuses me The way we interpret Our surroundings And the things that fill them I wonder what some were thinking When they constructed When they designed When they destroyed Did they perceive what they were doing As good or bad Was this an accomplishment or Was this something to be loathed? What was the purpose behind the thought And if they could explain Would we hear Would we listen Unhindered by an altered perspective Or is there no such thing Elation alters Depression alters Neutrality alters Indifference alters How we perceived and accept The sheer thought Even a simple letter Can be dissolved and misunderstood By an altered state A bent perspective It like viewing the world through An alternating Concave and convex lens 06-16-2012 0215 AM © 2012 K.C.
