Do Something.

Do Something.

A Poem by K.C. Zbryk

Don’t need a crutch

Most can stand on their own

Can you?

Don’t need the voice from afar

Guiding others and ignoring some

Have you heard this?

Don’t need the light

The dark is easier on the eyes

Do you need a candle?

Don’t need you

To see me as you want

To mutter a cooled compliment

To wish well from afar

Stop wishing

Stop praying

Stop speaking

I don’t need you

So stop speaking

I would rather see you

Do something

Or stop wasting my air…

Good writing, the insistant use of questions, the street wise slick of stop wasting my air, lean, clever poetry that lives through ideas and is not throttled with imagery.

Oh! This is so powerful! I can think of a few people I want to say this to. But I think that there is a place where we reach when we transcend this emotion -- and it's a place of compassion. But, that's later. This stage needs to be experienced first and you've experienced it brilliantly.
