RegurgitationA Poem by K.C. ZbrykThe face in the reflection Opens its mouth to laugh Only to be swallowed By A jaw clenched tight Stressing the muscles Increasing pressure On the grating teeth Squeezing the eyes closed Forcing tears to spring up Until A screaming face swallows That one of agony Yellowed teeth displayed In a feral manner Mouth pulled wide Spraying spittle at the Back of the reflection Only To be swallowed By a face sobbing The head slowly Drops into a pair of hands Hiding the face Showing only The tears streaming From in between the fingers Running down the wrists Shuddering in its own Self pity Then Just as the illusion seemed To be too much for the owner His reflection Regurgitated The hands parted Eyes still coated in tears To open the mouth Releasing the screaming Edifice With yellow teeth pulled wide Spitting up the he agonized Features Eyes closed to the world And as its eyes opened So did the mouth Only to release a face laughing Hysterically At the world he did not occupy At the owner because he can’t seem to grasp Why this momentary hallucination took place But in the end He opened the cabinet Housing the mirror Shook two aspirin out of the plastic bottle And closed the mirror to look at his hung over visage 05/16/2012 © 2012 K.C.
