Door Frame

Door Frame

A Poem by K.C. Zbryk
"

for a frined

"

Outside the world is enormous

Huge massively frightening

Full of commotion

People moving rushing

Forcing their way

To their separate destinations

The noises sights and sounds

Overwhelm all senses

So we close the door

To the voices

To the words

The eyes

We lock them out

In the name of peace of mind

And in the dark behind the curtains

We can finally hear

Ourselves

We can reflect

On the past

The pain

Until

All alone in the cave

We hear the echo

Our echo

The thoughts reverberating

Off the shadowed walls

Inundating us in all the things

That we wanted to reflect on

In this strange conundrum

We wanted to escape the commotion

And in return

We found ourselves trapped

In our own turmoil

As if our own reflection

Was the one screaming at us

In order to understand the past

Did we remove the possibility

Of a future

Despite what the mirror

May think

We can find a way past the door

Despite what the past may say

We can overcome

Wonderful write. You can run but you cannot hide . Sometimes the things inside our head is bigger than the chaos outside.

Damn my poetic Brother! you rocked it... as you do most poems. I wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for coming and throwing down at the open mic Thursday. If you aren't doing much tomorrow night and want an adventure I am going to a wrestling match at Casslemans downtown tomorrow night.... Poetic excursion????

Yes. We can. I am moved to tears by these words. It seems like they completely relate to something I'm experiencing in my life. I'm very pained by the past and it echoes in my mind. This is a beautiful piece of writing. So helpful to a reader like me. I am able to understand so many things through your words. Thank you for this absolutely enlightening post.
