Outside RainfallA Poem by K.C. ZbrykThe Outsider peers through Gently falling rain The silver needle streaks Caught in the streetlights halo Silence is separated by the Or perhaps enhanced by the ambient Falling rain The constant static sound That somehow maintains an unobtrusive Presence in the evening And the Outsider, he enjoys the rain He doesn’t mind the chill Because here, the rain Is a better companion Than the company inside the walls Here there is a chill But inside there is a cold indifference The eyes seem to be dimmed Lacking the spark The evidence of life And so he goes about his task Beside these individuals Never worrying about blending or becoming One of them He just has his task And the rest is simply time Backlit by his cigarette Or what looks like one anyway 05/09/2013 0055 am © 2013 K.C.
