AlteredA Poem by K.C. ZbrykThere is no moon to be my silent companion Here on this hazy shadowed night So I inhale in the darkness Letting my shifting smoke dissolve into Slate shade hanging above
The ground is white here And the trees black against The serrated hills set as the backdrop And I wander Letting the snow quiet my step Let my thoughts match My feet and their Pointless steps
I haven’t been well But I have been worse It seems that I have discovered That sometimes you long to change You do all you can to accomplish this But inevitably there is a turning point Something to force the change Because there is nothing left to do
Because there is something That you need to do And it makes all else seem pointless All of the things you treasured May as well be sand May as well be ash Because you lost something You never considered the value of
Some people balk at this and run I guess It makes sense to me But if the lost was there for me In life Then I can be there for them In death I can put on the suit And I can carry the weight Because Just because
I think I’m changing And I don’t think there is a way to stop it Accepting life and the opposite Is a daunting task 04/10/2013 0136 am © 2013 K.C. ZbrykFeatured Review
