![]() Dead DogA Poem by K.C. ZbrykWith a steady hand He looks into the eyes It was wrong from the beginning And he may have let things run on too long But there’s always that point The undeniable moment Where someone has to do something And he seems to be the only one left Still he has to look For a moment longer Taking in the spirit of the beast Was there anything good here? Something that he may destroy needlessly Something beautiful Something right But he found nothing worth keeping He saw corruption He saw a tainted entity That only wove deceit and Practiced manipulation
So he looked into its eyes
Steady Never doubting Peering down the barrel Somehow wishing he wasn't the one But there was no one else So he put old yeller down 01/10/2013 © 2013 K.C. ZbrykReviews
