Irrational AcceptanceA Poem by K.C. Zbrykwhat some see as good i cant help but disagree withThe mouth was moving, happily so, simply running I couldn’t read the words but the machinery Was churning out blank plastic form after blank plastic form Each one meant to represent An individual who had lost their identity So I said, “F**k the thought swimming behind your eyes” But you were still weaving, dreaming up, Reason after malformed reason That mankind was all a different version, Only a reflection, of you So my words mean nothing To your lofty Mannequins opinion Immovable in its ink My words may as well remain unuttered Why should I speak when you are me? You, almighty Narcissus, have already Contemplated, possibly uttered to your reflection, Each and every word by your own admission Every hated scar, every uttered lie, every reflected abuser You manifest Every word written, a moving speech, an unfair legislation You plagiarize Why would you want this? Perhaps the answer is all too clear You are indeed everyone and everyone is you Due to a lack of identity Dyed hair paired with a vocabulary All mean nothing To your reflection So the machine shop spits out another Cheap copy of a cheap copy and the end looms closer While the moving mouth mutters, “This is good, this is necessary…” Hearing nothing other than their echo As I stare in wonder on the opposite side of the glass Take off the slate colored glasses See red for once 07/29/2012 0332 AM © 2012 K.C.
