Before the DawnA Poem by K.C. ZbrykSweetly silent night You whispered such a lie Dark and chilling morn Can you look into the eye? It’s still, open, staring Dead Softly silent sunset Were you a bloody red? Did you give any warning Before counting their heads? Where there was screaming There is now silence There is darkness Where we once felt safe We are left full of doubt Full of questions and simply cold Before the dawn There was blood 07/20/2012 0426 am © 2012 K.C.
