Before the Dawn

Before the Dawn

A Poem by K.C. Zbryk

Sweetly silent night

You whispered such a lie

Dark and chilling morn

Can you look into the eye?

It’s still, open, staring

Dead

Softly silent sunset

Were you a bloody red?

Did you give any warning

Before counting their heads?

Where there was screaming

There is now silence

There is darkness

Where we once felt safe

We are left full of doubt

Full of questions and simply cold

Before the dawn

There was blood

I feel this poem, the recent events of this area of our world makes this on hell of a well written poem, your writing I have found captivates and make one think. I wish I could hear these performed... ah someday when we are rich and money doesn't matter it might be in the cards.

Extremely profound and vivid poetry, my friend. Indeed, "Before the dawn / There was blood". I can relate this to my current experiences in life and so I see intense depth in the narration. This poem has obviously been written by someone who is very perceptive and truly "knows" the way life works. Excellent work!
