As the water glistens.

As the water glistens.

A Story by Jared Friesen

As i walk through the sea, holding my girls soft hand.
I look at the sea and see beauty.
I look at the sky and see beauty.
I look at the sand and see beauty.
But then I look at my girl and see something that can't simply be defined as beautiful. In all simplicity she is perfection, she is the most amazing person I know, she is the one who makes my dreams happen and my heart pump.

I watch her as she runs, splashes and dives through the water. The liquid glistens off her skin like a million diamonds caught in the summer lights. She catches my gaze and giggles, taking my hand she leads me into the sea.
The water melds around our bodies, closing us in together. I look at her body; the curve of her hips, the shape of her legs, and the way her hair guiltlessly floats in the breeze. Somewhere a gull sings out, looking for its mate- it makes me happy. Because i know my search is over- because i've found my mate. My perfect match. My baby.

I hold her tighter and kiss her forehead, making her giggle again.
Her giggle. Now thats perfection. Like the sound of angels singing. Like the sweet laughter of children.
Like a choir in perfect harmony.

I hold her by the sides and press my body against hers, as I kiss her soft lips.
"i love you" I say to my girl.
"i love you too" she says back with the sweetest whisper.

And thats when I know, It doesn't matter where you are in life. What job you have or what car you own.
As long as you are with the person you love- thats all that will ever matter.

This kind of reminds me of my parents especially the way my parents look at each other, you can see the love they've shared for more than 29 years radiating off of them. I love this piece, the truth of the power of love--- "It doesn't matter where you are in life. What job you have or what car you own.
As long as you are with the person you love- thats all that will ever matter." Great job, buddy!
