it's a sign of true writer that whatever his/her eyes capture in a time, he/she slips it all down in deepen words. liked the rhythmic mix of this poetry. nicely modified. i liked this version much better than the ol' one i or, i guess, we all used to hear in nursery class. lol xoxo
Thank you very much, Adam for your kind words. Glad you liked it!

Couldn't help but sing the actual song after reading this
Very nice piece, raw and so pure.
Felt a sense of calmness, just like whenever I star gaze.
Well done

Oh, how many times have I had these feelings when looking at the stars. Quite an accurate usage of words you have there. I liked the image you used, and the rhyming in the poem allows it to have a perfect flow almost. Of course no one can miss that the first line in every stanza was taken from the song, which I'm sure gave you an inspiration.
Good write I had a great read :)

Thank you Drori for your kind review.
Glad my work resonated with your thoughts.
Twinkle, twinkle, little star,
is that you in the window,
Jyoti, dreaming away so far?

Herein, My Dear, Your voice rings clear and sweet as a crystal bell, with sadness and the beauty of eventual everlasting happiness and peace, where there is no pain … up "there" through the starry portals to God's wondrous eternity, or this is how I perceive the essence flowing from your enthralling poetic voice.
Oh, what dreams we can dream upon a star, and it seems they've spoken back down to you, gifting your ink with their glowing stardust.
Like sweetest wine, your poetry becomes more amazing with each passing of time!
I love it, Jyoti … warmest hugs to You, Lovely Poetess! ⁓ Richard
