A Love Too Deep.

A Love Too Deep.

A Poem by Jvonne

A Love Too Deep

Fragile yet dangerous, she hides from you.

Watching you.

Waiting in the shadows.

She loves what we cannot love,

She sees what we cannot see.

She wanders in your recycled nightmares.

Scratching at the peeling walls of your soul.

Staying within reach but out of sight

In silent moments she touches your bleeding mind.

And there in that moment you remember...

You remember her as she was.

Pale skin soft to your touch,

The semi-sweet essence that was her

Intoxicating, overpowering...

Chained to her feet, like child you stay loyal.

You see her lifeless body on that cold morning in July,

And then you feel her iron grip, still holding on...

Beautiful and haunting words in this poem. The story in the poem got strong with each additional statement.
"She loves what we cannot love,
She sees what we cannot see."
No weakness in this amazing poem. I like the strong ending to the excellent poetry.

Cleverly-written metaphor with brilliance within these lines.
I was pleasantly caught off guard by its power...and accuracy!
Thanks for the share

You're very welcome
I like the way you ended this piece a lot, you led up to it very well and I think it definitely keeps the reader intrigued. Nice imagery and very good write. Great work.

This is raw poetry at it`s very best.
You pray on the feeling of the reader
who lusts for answers to the riddle o f
your dreams. Savoring the sweetness of
her soul, you open the gates to paradise
and close them with a question that will
be answered by him, soon.

Wow , what a rich poetry , I feel now like I just tasted a very rich cream cake !

Love is such a beautiful thing , you capture a very unique side of it ... my image now is you and the Lion which appear on one of your pictures ... I think you called it me and Sara... but it can be totally diffrent kind of love ... very powerful and mature writing xx

This is great! Well described and packed with emotion and movement. I see some of this style in my own writing, plus this topic is something I write about a lot. I loved it. My favorite lines are, "Scratching at the peeling walls of your soul" and "In silent moments she touches your bleeding mind" It got such depth too with a lovely structure. Terrific! :)
