The River of LifeA Poem by JustinKHPoetic retelling of the Gospel and Revelation 21:6
From the cross of Christ a river flows
A river of life from a life taken Underneath that cross I knelt grasping his pierced feet As the blood poured down over the crown of my head And I wept bitter tears for what my sins had done I felt the slick blood washing over me I smelled his sweat and his bloodied body The blood flowed over my own festering sores Soothing them as it flowed over them Healing my wounds by wounds he suffered And washing away every blemish Turning back and brushing the blood from my eyes I can see a multitude Speaking the languages of every tribe and nation Washing themselves in the blood Soothing the sores of sin till assuaged His blood like a river flows Washing away the sins of many Come and be washed In the cleansing blood of Christ © 2023 JustinKH |
