Human elementA Poem by Justin Street
Breathing rough, the man runs tough
Through the briars and brush But his speed alone is not enough He wants to fly up through the green lush He wants to fly Up through the heavens Up past the sky And count his lucky three sevens If he’s bright And if he’s true Then he will purge the sky’s great blue But there is still more to do A great storm has come to consume the sky, but this will not happen, for he would rather die. Down into the ocean's abyss he dived, Awakening the ocean depth to help the sky, So forward he purged the surface of a sea Unsettled ocean lunged, storm unpleased. Lightning struck down with fiery pride upon the earth where no one could hide. Forward the man flew, only a streak of blue. With the ocean in his hands, he flew straight and true. He gripped the sea as his whip, and through the storm, the sea did rip. Down the storm fell unto earth; now a mist in its rebirth "The storm," the man said, "has got its money's worth." So tired and glum, he returned to rest, but to explain to his wife is the final test. © 2010 Justin StreetAuthor's Note
