'Cause You're Not Mine

'Cause You're Not Mine

A Poem by Justine

I sit with my headphones on,
With every song reminding me of you,
Every day dream I have,
In the end you fall for me,
In the end this girl,
who goes unnoticed ,
Is seen by you.
But it's all just in my head,
'Cause you're not mine
I sit with my phone,
Fighting against my heart to call,
Just to say hi,
Erasing and retyping a text message,
With a smile I can hear you reply in my head,
So I hit send and instantly regret it,
It's all brought to the front of my mind when you never reply,
You aren't mine
Silly girl,
What was I thinking,
That you could ever fall for a girl like me.
You offer your hand,
As a friend,
I can't,
Cause you're not mine.

You created a scene moving from 'headphones on' to "sit with my phone" and that progression to the conclusion "silly girl". It movement and flow. Good. It has emotion "dream" and "smile". You take the reader on this slow walk with you, not leading or rushing but meandering through until we come to "I can't". That's the STOP sign. Thnx for the read.
