Fight to Heal

Fight to Heal

A Poem by Justine

There are nights

I don’t need you.

Nights I don’t want you.

Why did you do this to me?

I’m stronger without you.

I’m the best you won’t have.

There are nights

I need you.

Nights I want you.

          Your fingers in my curls

I’m not strong.

My chest is tight, my throat closing

There are nights

I won’t let myself think of you

          I’m numb, my mind blank

Nights I close my eyes

And dream of you for hours

Of us, touch, whispers, giggles, and kisses

I don’t need you

           I need you

I want you

          I don’t want you

But you left

          You’ll come back

So this is the fight between

My mind and heart,

My fight to heal

A difficult situation is well written and expressed in your tender poem.

Again, this is very raw and I like that. Cheer up though, things will get better.
