My Book

A Story by Justine

You stand in front of my bookshelf when I’m not there. The spines of the books identifying themselves one at time to you, the classics, contemporaries, mysteries, they’re all there.

It then catches your eye sticking out slightly from the rest you pull it off the shelf. A fabric covered book, no title, no author’s name on the front. Opening it slowly, curiosity strikes your heart. The first words written in ink catch your attention. It’s not my diary, not that kind of writing. No its much deeper than any day to day life. You have found my book of poems. You have found my heart, my soul, my dear you have found me.

You're so deep! It's true that a writer's work is a piece of them. We pull from our thoughts, experiences, our feelings. It's pulled from the essense of who we are. Great job of capturing that. I'm sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for more of your work. I would love to see you try writing some longer stories. :)
