Fading

Fading

A Story by Justine

She stands in the middle of the street, the traffic around her perfectly still, frozen in time. There is silence all around her, the air cold, her warm breaths coming out it small puffs. She is standing alone in the world  frozen in time on the day she lost it all. The day her life changed. She trusted and it brought her to her end, she had trusted to easily.

She turned to see him standing there at a distance between the cars. She knew he loved her, she could feel it, even now. He reached out his arm, trying to save her, but even he couldn’t, not now. Not even his love could save her now as she faded into the morning dawn breeze. She was there, then she wasn’t. Time no longer stood still and the world went on without her, their lives went on without her as she faded and was forgotten.

That was incredible! It felt like a dream. But then, when tradgedy strikes, real life can feel like a dream.

I love how you can put so much into so little. Are you submitting this into a contest?
