Pushing Away

Pushing Away

A Poem by Justine

Say good-bye,

Say good-bye to me,

At least for now,

Here it all comes again

I’m pushing away,

standing back here

watching you move on,

live your life.

I’m the girl that always puts people back together

To watch them walk off without me.

I stand here hurt

Cause I put the best of me in you,

A mistake that

Always brings me heartache,

But It is who I am,

What I do, I give my best always.

I watch, standing here hurt

As you leave

to live your life

Happy again.

My job done.

Yeah we can stay friends, I say

My heart knowing we won’t be as close as before.

I’m pushing away,

Standing back here

Watching you move on,

live your life.

But I’ll always be here,

To give you more of me

To make you happy

and watch you go.

Maybe next time

You’ll be the one,

The one that won’t walk off without me.

Maybe next time you’ll take me with

To live in a part of your life.
