The Other Me

The Other Me

A Poem by Justine

I turn out the light

So I don’t see my reflection.

In my head I see myself,

Much more beautiful than what the mirror shows.

She is who I want to be.

Who I am on the inside.

Her dark brown wave of curls

Just below her shoulder blades,

Strands of curls framing her vivid hazel eyes

And soft features.

She is me.

But I am not her.

I don’t know if I ever will be.

For now I will feel her beauty from the inside,

Maybe one day she’ll stop hiding and come out

I love the poem...
It expresses how you feel like you're someone else inside, and that person defines who you truely are and want to be, both inside and out.
It's almost as if the image portrayed to the world outside is merely a facade masking all that is waiting to be revealed, I know this because i feel the same way, like the way i appear on the outside does'nt match who i truely feel I am on the inside.
Again this is a wonderful poem, it has inspired me to write about how i feel about myself inside.

wow deep. Tells of the struggles that most girls have these days. Our society doesn't allow for proper growth or expression, so many people find themselves lost, unaware of who they really are. I liked this one.
